✨ The Hidden Driver of Your Results (And How to Shift It Instantly)
There’s something quietly shaping your results right now, and most people never even realise it’s there. It’s not your strategy, your effort, or even your level of skill. It’s what you expect. Not the surface-level kind of expectation, but the deeper assumptions you hold about yourself, your life, and what’s possible for you.
Whether you’re aware of it or not, you are always operating from a place of expectation. You expect people to respond a certain way, you expect things to work out or not, you expect success to feel easy or hard. These expectations sit in the background, influencing how you think, how you feel, and ultimately how you show up.
This is why it matters more than most people realise. If you expect things to be difficult, you’ll hesitate. If you expect rejection, you’ll hold yourself back. If you expect things to take time, you’ll move slower. Not because you’re not capable, but because your internal world is quietly setting the pace for your external results.
It also explains why two people can take the same action and get completely different outcomes. One is backed by certainty, while the other is backed by doubt. The action might look the same on the outside, but the energy behind it is different, and that changes everything.
Most people move through life reacting. They make decisions based on past experiences, current circumstances, and what they can already see. But the people who create extraordinary results choose differently. They decide what gets to be true before there’s any evidence, and they begin to move from that place.
They don’t wait to feel confident before they take action, they choose confidence. They don’t wait for proof that something will work, they become the proof through the way they think and act. This is where the real shift happens, when you stop letting your current reality define you and start creating from who you choose to be.
A powerful place to begin is simply by noticing your thoughts throughout the day. When something doesn’t go to plan, what do you make it mean? When you think about your goals, what is your first automatic response? That first thought will often reveal the assumption you’re currently operating from.
From there, you can gently start to shift it. Instead of assuming something will be hard, allow yourself to consider that it might actually work out better than expected. Instead of questioning whether you can do something, begin asking what the version of you who already has it would do next.
You don’t have to force a complete belief shift overnight. You simply need to create space for a new perspective, and over time, that new perspective becomes your new normal.
When you change what you expect, you change how you show up. When you change how you show up, your results begin to change. And as you gather new evidence, you start to build a completely different reality, one that aligns with who you’ve decided to become.
If you’re ready to explore this more deeply, my live on The Power of Assumption will guide you into stepping into the version of yourself who already has what you desire, and how to start living from that place now.
