WHY PEOPLE STRUGGLE TO RECEIVE MONEY

So many people believe they have a money problem, but often it’s not really about money at all. It’s about worthiness, identity, and the subconscious beliefs we’ve carried for years without even realising it.

I know this because I’ve lived it myself. There was a time in business where I undercharged, overdelivered, and felt uncomfortable asking for the sale. I thought I needed more experience, more qualifications, or better strategies before I could confidently charge more. But the deeper truth was that I didn’t fully feel worthy of receiving more.

And that’s something I see in so many business owners today. They work incredibly hard, care deeply about their clients, and go above and beyond. Yet when it comes to money, something feels uncomfortable. They hesitate to say their price, discount too quickly, overexplain their value, and feel guilty charging properly.

Most of the time, this comes back to subconscious programming what Bob Proctor called paradigms. Paradigms are mental habits and beliefs stored in the subconscious mind. They are formed through repetition, environment, experiences, and what we were taught growing up.

Maybe you heard things like “money doesn’t grow on trees,” “you have to work hard for money,” or “don’t ask for too much.” Over time, those beliefs become internalised. So even when consciously you want more success, income, and opportunities, subconsciously part of you may not feel safe receiving it.

That’s why so many people stay stuck in cycles of undercharging and overworking. Their results often reflect what they subconsciously believe they deserve.

The shift begins when you become aware of those patterns instead of operating from them automatically. You begin asking yourself why receiving feels uncomfortable, why you shrink when it’s time to ask for the sale, or why you feel you need to prove your worth through exhaustion. Awareness creates change.

Little by little, you start building a new relationship with money one based on value instead of fear. Receiving money is not selfish, and being paid well for the value you bring is not wrong. You do not need to overwork to earn your worth.

The more you begin valuing yourself differently, the more your business, income, and opportunities begin reflecting that back to you. ✨
